Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for a Failure Analysis Technician to place at our client on-site in Florence, KY

Role: Analysis Technician (Datacenter Operations)

Client: Global technology retailer - Data Center environment.

Duration: 6- month initial contract with the potential of extension/conversion.

Location: 100% ON-SITE in Florence, KY

Pay rate: $22-24.50/hr, depending on relevant experience.

Schedule: 40 hours per week with the potential for OT. 2 shift types available with flexible hours.

  • First shift 8am- 4:30pm
  • Second shift : 5am-1:30am



Summary:

As a Failure Analysis technician, you will be working in the failure analysis lab on a team dedicated to the remediation of technology that is found throughout this client's datacenters. You will be responsible for the hands-on diagnoses, repair/replacement, and/or decommissioning of internal components, and running analyses on fail-points to ensure the sustainability and security of internal datacenters.


Responsibilities:

  • There are multiple areas in this facility, You may play a part in De-manufacturing of server racks, failure analysis, testing, repair or decommissioning
  • Run point on the intake of equipment from datacenters across the country and distribute it through the appropriate channel(s)
  • Conduct analyses on hardware to determine the fail point, diagnostics, and determine the appropriate action based on findings and company guidelines
  • Repair and replace the internal components of server racks, workstations, laptops/desktops, and more to be returned to datacenters
  • Properly decommission IT hardware in accordance to company policy


Requirements:

  • An educational background in information technology, or a related field (can be either a minimum of an associate's degree or an accredited IT oriented certification (e.g.: CompTIA A+))
  • Have hands-on experience working with technology hands-on (computer hardware or equivalent)- building, troubleshooting, repair/replacing parts, etc. is preferable
  • Strong desire to go above and beyond- must be a real "go-getter"
