Job Description: The Sourcing Specialist will collaborate closely with assigned Sourcing Managers and product segments, taking ownership of assigned commodities. This role involves executing strategies to meet business objectives for the designated commodities within the purchase family, which includes managing the Cost of Bill of Materials, Target Costing, and Should-Be Costing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement local sourcing strategies that create a competitive advantage and drive supplier initiatives.
- Manage supplier selection, development, and consolidation to optimize sourcing and enhance supplier performance.
- Ensure the execution of sourcing strategies for assigned commodities or suppliers, maintaining full accountability for purchasing and meeting deflation targets.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of components and manufacturing processes to ensure the highest quality at the most cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance, developing improvement strategies to meet business requirements.
- Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced materials and services align with business needs.
- Drive improvements in sourcing processes, addressing escalations related to deliver quality, invoicing/payable issues, and database management.
Direct Sourcing Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost productivity, fulfillment, and lifecycle management by leveraging standardization and industry best practices.
- Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers, fostering early supplier engagement in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and ensuring long-term partnerships throughout the product lifecycle.
Indirect Sourcing Responsibilities:
- Enhance business productivity metrics affected by indirect sourcing, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and boost productivity.
- Lead efforts to improve sourcing processes through digitization and simplification, including communication with management, policy recommendations, and developing spend control dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical engineering discipline, or 5 years of relevant work experience in the assigned commodity.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience with deep knowledge of assigned commodities.
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial sourcing or supply chain management.
