We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant Manager to oversee and optimize our manufacturing operations.
Position Overview:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of safety and compliance within a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and timelines are met.
- Coordinate all aspects of production, from raw material procurement to finished product distribution.
- Implement and enforce best practices in production efficiency, cost management, and product quality.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing coaching and feedback to ensure individual and team success.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on continuous learning and improvement.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Lead initiatives to promote a safety-first culture, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and quality assurance standards.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing:
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance.
- Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, increasing throughput, and enhancing product quality.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, working closely with the supply chain and purchasing departments to ensure timely availability.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address any supply chain disruptions or challenges.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to meet financial and operational goals.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
- Address any production or quality issues in a timely manner to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Quality Management are a plus.
Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing management, with a proven track record in plant operations, leadership, and team management.
- Experience in the production of plastic compounds, polymers, or related materials is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of industry-specific standards, quality control, and safety regulations.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Proficiency in production scheduling software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- This position requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which includes exposure to noise, machinery, and chemicals.
- The Plant Manager will spend significant time on the plant floor, working with staff and monitoring operations.
- Occasional lifting, standing, and walking may be required.
