Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Inventory Planning Analyst to manage inventory strategies and ensure optimal inventory levels across our distribution network. This role requires technical aptitude, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to engage in complex problem-solving while working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic supply chain environment and take ownership of their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Utilize SAP, Excel, and other forecasting tools to manage inventory levels, ensuring high fill rates and minimal inventory days on hand (DOH).
  • Develop and execute replenishment strategies, SKU transitions, and parameter settings to maintain network balance.
  • Monitor and analyze exception reports to address stockouts, excess inventory, and backorder risks proactively.

Strategic Planning:

  • Design and implement inventory strategies for new product introductions, SKU discontinuations, customer-specific needs, and seasonal requirements.
  • Collaborate with demand planning teams to align controls such as EOQ, min/max levels, safety stock, and velocity rankings with business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Sales, Merchandising, Marketing, and Finance teams to incorporate regulatory changes, promotions, and customer requirements into the inventory planning process.
  • Manage supplier relationships to address lead times, fill rate improvements, and damaged goods processes.

Problem Solving & Initiative:

  • Independently identify root causes of inventory issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead efforts to reduce aged, obsolete, and excess inventory through various strategies such as returns, liquidation, and donation.

Process Improvement:

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory processes.
  • Take initiative in addressing challenges, setting up teams to solve issues, and driving improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • 2–5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel (handling large data sets with multiple tabs), and SQL (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve inconsistencies in complex data sets.
  • Effective communication and relationship management skills for engaging with business partners and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead cross-functional efforts.
