Job Description

The Vice President of Sales (VP of Sales) is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, revenue growth, and market expansion for a leading pharmaceutical company. Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO), this executive will oversee a high-performing sales team, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The VP of Sales will serve as a key driver of innovation and excellence in sales execution across all areas and geographies while expanding market presence.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with the CSO and executive leadership to align sales objectives with overall business strategy to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue goals. Identify growth opportunities in current and emerging markets to expand the company’s market share.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing sales team, ensuring continuous development and engagement while establishing clear performance metrics and accountability measures for the sales organization. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and strategic partners. Act as a company ambassador, ensuring customer-centricity and satisfaction at all touchpoints.
  • Leverage data-driven insights and a competitive landscape to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and other teams to create cohesive sales strategies.
  • Implement and optimize compliant and regulatory sales processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and report on sales performance, providing actionable insights to the CSO and leadership team.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of sales experience, with at least 8 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or other related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Experience managing and scaling large, geographically distributed sales teams.
