A Pain Management Physician in a specialty healthcare organization is responsible for assessing patients with personal injury and workers' compensation cases while developing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans. This role includes prescribing therapies and performing medical procedures such as joint injections to alleviate pain. The position requires a licensed physician with specialized training and is based in locations on Long Island.
A specialty healthcare organization that operates 20+ medical practices throughout the tri-state area. This practice specializes in No Fault, Workers Compensation, and personal injury patients. They are currently seeking a licensed Physiatrist for an outpatient practice. The Physiatrist will be based out of two locations on Long Island.
About the Opportunity:
- Specialty: Physiatrist
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am-5pm
- Patient Population: Personal Injury, Workers' Comp, No Fault, Commercial, etc.
- On-Call- None!
Responsibilities:
The Physiatrist will be responsible for
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients to understand their medical history, current condition, and functional limitations
- Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals
- Prescribing and overseeing various forms of rehabilitation therapy, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
- Recommending and performing various medical procedures, such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning
- Engage in research to advance the field's understanding of rehabilitation techniques, interventional procedures, and outcomes for patients with disabilities or chronic conditions
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice Medicine in New York
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management preferred
- Board Eligible / Certified in Pain Medicine (American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, or similar)
- NY Work Comp Authorization number a plus
