Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Director of IT to oversee and lead a small but dynamic IT team (3-person team). This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal machine downtime by addressing server issues, maintaining system security, and leading critical upgrades. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing environments, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to system improvements. (with some remote work opportunity)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and systems, to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, including an immediate need to transition all systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect the company’s systems, identifying when to escalate issues to external specialists if necessary.
- Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to address IT-related issues that impact production and machine performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and systems to support team efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years relevant technical skills and experience, ideally for a manufacturer.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Expertise in server management and troubleshooting, with a focus on minimizing system downtime.
- Hands-on experience with system upgrades, particularly transitioning operating systems (Windows 7 to Windows 10).
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and the ability to escalate advanced security concerns as necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
