Job Overview

Position: COBOL Developer

Type: 6-9 months Contract-to-Hire

Location: Hybrid, onsite in Flowood, MS (Jackson, MS area)

No H1B/CPT/OPT candidates.

Cannot have pending I-140 applications.

Drug Test: Must pass a hair follicle drug screen covering the last six months.

Role Description

• Maintain and update the mission-critical claims adjudication system running on IBM mainframes.
• Ensure claims adjudicate correctly on the first pass to minimize manual intervention.
• Work closely with the business side to understand and implement required updates.

Key Requirements

Primary Skills:

• COBOL programming on IBM Mainframes.
• 10-15% development with CICS (Customer Information Control System).
• Healthcare domain expertise, specifically in claims adjudication: Claims, deductibles, EOBs, out-of-pocket max, types of insurance (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc.), and denial management.

Secondary Skills (Nice-to-Have):

• Mainframe expertise.
• Experience with IBM systems.
• AS400 and iSeries exposure.
