The Talon Tribe is hiring a Human Resources Manager!


The Human Resources Manager manages the club's personnel program, maintaining payroll records, administering the club's benefit and workers' compensation programs and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Partners with club management for recruitment, selection and orientation of new staff members.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the club's personnel program; develop and implement applicable policies and procedures, maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files.
  • Administer and maintain the HRIS including processing all new hires, merit increases, and termination paperwork.
  • Coordinate, monitor and suggest improvements for the club's employee performance appraisal system.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, short-term disability, parental leave, etc.
  • In coordination with the GM/COO and department heads, manage the H2B visa program, including liaison with the H2B attorneys, recruiters, and ensure paperwork is processed accurately and timely.
  • Partner with management to assist in employee relations and performance management.
  • Partner with the GM/COO to investigate allegations of harassment, discrimination or any other allegations that may arise.
  • Develop and place recruitment ads; plan recruitment strategies; screen applicants; process all employment applications; coordinate background checks, necessary correspondence and forms.
  • Chair the Employee Wellbeing Committee, develop employee motivation and retention programs, and organize employee recognition functions.
  • With the Director of Finance, manage the Club's group insurance, unemployment and related benefit programs; communicate benefits information to staff.
  • Manage unemployment insurance claims, including attending unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Provide general property orientation for new employees; partner with department heads in the development/implementation of within-department orientation and training programs. Assists department heads in planning employee professional development and training.
  • Ensure mandatory training is completed as required by local, state and federal law (i.e. harassment prevention, abuse prevention, CPR/AED and first aid training).
  • Keep current with ever-changing laws and regulations relating to employees and payroll; ensure compliance with these laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all work-related injury claims to ensure integrity, on-going case management and reporting compliance.
  • Conduct exit interviews and make recommendations to department heads.
  • Develop and maintain a library of job descriptions for each position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree and 2+ years of previous human resource experience preferred. Basic business and accounting knowledge a plus.
  • Strong computer skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible and responsive.
  • Good judgment and sound decision-making skills.
  • The ability to exercise good time management skills and be detail oriented.
  • The ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or the ability to attain within one year of hire.
