About the Role
- The lab infrastructure services engineer is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the Custom Compute and Solutions (CCS) product labs.
- The person in this contract position is expected to have a deep understanding of data center management.
- Perform various tasks on different projects of CCS Engineering labs.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a systems or network administrator in a R&D or IT environment.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of technical experience, in a large-scale data center or IT infrastructure environment.
- Manage and maintain the lab infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment and HW components.
- Commitment to Quality.
- Great communication skills with accountability to internal customers and Labs.
- Experience with standard lab equipment (e.g., Racks, test bed benches, switches, and power supplies).
- In-depth knowledge of System/OS level TCP/IP Networking is a must.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work inside a data center environment.
- Must be able to rack-mount servers and connect required cabling.
- Must be able to work extended hours inside a data center environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as oral and written skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiar with the installation, operation, repair and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure, including LAN TCP/IP knowledge related to problem research.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive to identify and come up with solutions to lab needs.
- High level of flexibility.
