Head of Supply Chain

Reports to the VP of Operations

Team Size:  7 Direct Reports:  2 (Logistics Team Lead, Purchasing/Procurement Team Lead)


Job Summary:  We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Supply Chain to lead our logistics and procurement teams. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our supply chain operations, including, purchasing, procurement, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vendor relationship management, negotiation, and sourcing new parts. They will also be responsible for auditing departmental procedures and implementing improvements to optimize performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the purchasing/procurement team, currently 7 members.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with company goals.
  • Proactively audit departmental procedures and suggest and implement improvements.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships, including negotiation of contracts and terms.
  • Source new parts and materials to meet the needs of the business.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and reliability.
  • Optimize and maintain inventory management system to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
  • Support the company’s strategic goals and values.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain
  • 7+ years’ experience in supply chain required
  • 2+ years’ experience in leadership required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office required; Advanced Excel
  • Proven experience in vendor relationship management and material sourcing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software (ERP) and tools.
  • 100% in office.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience in a similar industry.
