Job Description

As part of a team, the Inside Sales Representative develops estimates and sells products and accessories to new and existing accounts. The position involves sales primarily in response to inbound customer inquiries and referrals. The work performed requires substantial knowledge of the products being sold including product installation and configuration for the customer. Prior experience preparing estimates from Drawings, sketches, blueprints is a must have requirement.

- High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.

- 2 years inside sales experience selling “business to customer” products.

- Understanding of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.

- Knowledge of customer needs assessment and meeting quality standards for services.

- Industry knowledge of home construction or external siding installation including estimation of materials required.

- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting blueprints, material lists and home construction documents.


Basic Skills

  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Strong understanding of mathematics including basic geometry, working with fractions and measurements. Need to calculate area (Square feet) and total materials required for a specific project.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Basic negotiating skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools. Analyzes project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify material requirements.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.
  • Contact regular and prospective customers to explain product features and solicit orders.
  • Estimate or quote prices, product, payment terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  • Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
  • Review drawings, estimates, and bids to ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
  • Maintain process documents and spreadsheets with all sales and customer related information as required.

  • Use of calculators and architect scales for estimates.

Full time in office (not remote)
