Our client is a multibillion-dollar corporation and leader in the industrial manufacturing of products both for the commercial and private consumer industries. We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer to support manufacturing equipment and capital projects in effort to handle the increase in demand for products made at the manufacturing plant.
Required skills/experience:
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Technology) with a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a project engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Proficient with CAD design software to develop detailed engineering documentation for new and existing equipment projects
- Forecast, plan, schedule resources, and manage the execution of capital projects which can include a focus on industrial process equipment, material handling systems, structural supports, and process piping
- Work with contractors to ensure drawings, renderings, and overall project scope for either new or modifications\ projects are prepared in accordance with required specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
- Coordinate with internal manufacturing and maintenance teams to avoid conflicts or minimize interference with projects
Desired skills/experience:
- 7+ years of mechanical project engineering experience in a continuous processing manufacturing facility
- Extensive experience working with external contractors as well as inhouse fabrication teams
- Demonstrated capabilities to handle multiple capital improvement projects where engineering and project management oversight is required
- Managed projects requiring process hazard analysis and process safety management
- Technical knowledge that includes electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
- Strong interdepartmental communication capabilities to establish effective working relationships within multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment
