Position: Accounting Associate -A/P

The company is searching for an Accounting Associate to join our team in Accounts Payable. Job Overview: The Accounting Associate – A/P is primarily responsible for processing Accounts Payable and performing administrative support for the accounting department to established Leon Uniform standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Primarily responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable, including:
• Processing invoices and expenses for payment
• Clarifying any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures
• Reconciling vendor statements
• Maintaining vendor relations
• Prepare and execute weekly A/P payments by check and by credit card
• Entering data into accounting software
• Maintaining files of documents (invoices, statements and correspondence)
2. Accounting Department Support:
• Provide support for all accounting functions as requested by the Controller
3. Administrative Duties:
• Process new vendor/supplier account set-up for payment (electronic, mail, credit card, etc.)
• Monitor, replenish, dispense, and track petty cash
• Order office supplies, pick up miscellaneous supplies and order birthday celebration treats.
Job Requirements
• Will be seated up to 8 hours per day.
• Responsible for lifting heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs.)
• Attends work punctually as scheduled on a regular and full-time basis, including overtime if necessary.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Training:
• Associates Degree in Accounting or related business field preferred but not required
Experience:
• 2 - 3 years of experience in relevant accounting experience, A/P experience a plus
• Quickbooks experience is a plus
Skills:
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and ERP software
• Highly proficient using Microsoft Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and Leon Uniform team members regarding accounts payable issues
• Proficient in organizing and filing large quantities of documents with accuracy
• Strong attention to detail
