About the Job
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the AR department, ensuring efficient management of credit, payment processes, and customer account maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels in streamlining workflows, resolving account discrepancies, and fostering collaboration between departments to maintain strong customer relationships. This role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency while supporting the company’s financial goals.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the AR department, including invoicing, payment posting, and credit management.
- Monitor outstanding balances, address account discrepancies, and implement strategies to improve collection efforts.
- Collaborate with the sales, customer service, and logistics teams to resolve customer inquiries and streamline communication.
- Analyze AR aging reports and recommend solutions for optimizing cash flow and reducing overdue payments.
- Evaluate and refine existing workflows to improve team efficiency and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage and mentor a team of AR associates, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders, including customers, financial institutions, and freight carriers.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of AR metrics to executive leadership.
Experience, Skills, & Ability Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or related roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and CRM tools
- Strong analytical skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel expertise (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Experience with payment processing platforms such as Shopify, Authorize.net, Converge, EDI, and ACH.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally with sales and logistics teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
