Medical Director Physician at Inspire Healthcare summary:

The Medical Director oversees the Adolescent AIDS Program in Bronx, NY, managing clinical and psychosocial services for underserved youth aged 13-24. This role requires a Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Med/Peds, extensive experience in HIV/AIDS care, and specific knowledge in LGBTQ health and transgender care. Responsibilities include directing clinical staff, coordinating services, participating in grant writing, and delivering trainings on HIV and LGBTQ health.

Job : Medical Director position for an Adolescent AIDS Program - Bronx, NY
  • Board Certified in either Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Med/Peds
  • Ability to obtain a New York License
  • 100% Outpatient
  • Work with medically underserved youth (currently 80 patients in program ages 13-24)
  • Advance training in Infectious Disease or Adolescent Medicine a plus
  • Experience with grant funded programs a must
  • Clinical experience working with adolescents and young adults
  • 2 years of experience working with transgender care
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS care and prevention
  • 80% clinical 20% administrative
  • Eligible for academic appointment

Responsibilities:

  • Direct all medical and psychosocial services and clinical staff
  • Coordinate clinical services with all other AAP programs including research, outreach, and training
  • Participate in programmatic grant writing, reporting, and strategic planning
  • Develop and deliver provider trainings on HIV and LGBTQ health
  • Help expand community-based services and public health initiatives

Candidate must have a strong balance of skills including, but not limited to; clinical experience in HIV treatment and prevention, LGBTQ health, care for transgender youth; track record of success leading a multidisciplinary staff; academic productivity; and high level administrative skills such as managing program/grant deliverables and CQI initiatives, grant writing and reporting, and budget management. Proven ability to effectively communicate with providers, community organizations, diverse youth and family populations is also required.
