Job Details

**Job Duties:**
  • Develop, implement, and update infection control policies and procedures that ensure compliance with evidence-based standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in advising clinical staff on infection control-related questions and concerns.
  • Conduct investigations and analyses of infection-related exposures or outbreaks, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate compliance with infection control policies through direct surveillance and collaboration with internal systems, such as Infection Control Liaisons.
  • Oversee the development of key infection control metrics, data collection, and analysis, providing recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and collaborate with leadership to drive the organization’s infection prevention initiatives.

**Skills and Qualifications:**
  • Degree in Nursing or Public Health, or a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Epidemiology, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Technologist is also acceptable.
  • Certification in infection prevention (e.g., APIC) or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices and the ability to implement evidence-based standards (e.g., CDC, APIC, SHEA, WHO).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop comprehensive infection control work plans with measurable goals.
