*Job Description: *We are seeking an experienced Asst. Team Lead in our _Account Receivable_ department. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in Physician Billing and a strong background in healthcare medical billing and insurance follow-up, including HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. The _Asst. Team Lead_ will be responsible for monitoring and working Accounts Receivable, including coordinating efforts to obtain maximum return.

*Skills Required:*
* Knowledge of multiple billing functions
* Proficient in CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS coding.
* Demonstrate reliability & ability to communicate constructively.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Word, Excel, system Report Writer(s) as applicable.
*Primary Responsibilities*
* Assist in meeting with assigned physicians and office managers to review open AR, Problem Accounts and Collections.
* Coordinate and manage team work load to ensure timely and effective account receivable follow-up.
* Routine follow-ups on past due and denied claims.
* Audit, correct, and re-bill applicable claims.
* Dispute payments, handle appeal of underpaid claims, and process denied claims.
* Performs additional duties requested by management.
* Conduct regular audits on accounts worked by team members.
* Review and work unpaid aging accounts.
* Investigate additional insurance benefits as required.
* Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of medical billing specialists and AR personnel.
* Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
* Provide guidance on complex AR and billing issues.
* Generate and analyze reports on billing performance, collections, and accounts receivable metrics.
* Provide actionable insights to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
*Qualifications:*
* 3-5 years of experience in physician billing
* Must be able to work independently.
* Must understand Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO and Work Comp billing guidelines.
* Proficient in CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS coding.
* High School degree required, some college preferred.
