Why does the job exist?
The Business Outreach Coordinator Supervisor position will help DVR develop policy, program and evaluation for effectiveness in serving employers. This position will be dedicated to supervising, building and managing the Business Outreach Unit to ensure compliance with WIOA/Federal Rules and Guidelines
How does it get done?
The Business Outreach Coordinator Supervisor will represent the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in the states business community. This position will establish partnerships with employers to promote business development. The Business Outreach Supervisor will provide supervision duties and is responsible for the Business Outreach Unit. Supervisor will train, mentor, evaluate and coach the Business outreach regional staff. Will be responsible for guiding the Business Outreach Unit to meet the NMDVR agency objectives in the areas of Recruitment, Retention, Education and Partnerships.
This role is responsible to ensure the NMDVR agency complies with WIOA obligations by VR performance measures for Service to Employers. Business engagement- annual employer survey to assess business needs and develop response plan to hiring individuals with disabilities. Retention services- build and create relationships with employers to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities served by the VR program. Annual employer survey, Oversee development of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities for employers and individuals with disabilities served by NMDVR. Communicate opportunities internally with Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling team. Create Employer focused trainings and rapid intervention supports for employers in hiring and working with Individuals with Disabilities Attend New Mexico Department of Workforce solution events, meetings, regional board meetings as NMDVR representative. Consult with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors on Labor Market data to address employment opportunities with participants in the VR program. Network strategically, with Department of Workforce Solutions as well as the regional workforce boards

Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and possess, maintain a current Defensive
Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico, or must pass and receive Defensive Driving
Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continuous employment.
Regular statewide travel is required, including overnight travel.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
