This position reports to
Maintenance Manager
Your role and responsibilities
Performs machining operations on a variety of machines to make parts to specification. Design, build and assemble jigs, fixtures, gauges and machines with pneumatic and hydraulics. Develop skills in die preventative maintenance, repair, design and build. Carries out assigned tasks by performing the following duties: 1. Reads and interprets operation sheets, sketches, layouts, diagrams, written changes and verbal instructions to gain correct information to perform machining operations. 2. Develops and uses drawing skill to document work. 3. Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining. 4. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper and grinder to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specification. 5. Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable. Mate, fit and tram, flat and contoured surfaces, plus assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms. 6. Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances. 7. Examines standard or previously used dies, tools and jigs and fixtures and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part. 8. Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and die draws or sketches design of product. 9. May assist in supervision and training of other team members, specifically the tool room level 1's. 10. Maintains a clean work environment on a daily basis or more often if necessary. 11. Ability to work overtime as scheduled. 12. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications for the role

  • HS/GED required. Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and other various sketches.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
