Job DetailsJob LocationMain Hospital Campus Headquarters - Madison, WVPosition TypeFull TimeJob Posting Date(s)Start Date01/23/2025DescriptionThe Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a member of the Boone Memorial Hospital (BMH) CRNA team, which provides full-service anesthesia care for various levels of acuity and types of patients. The CRNA must have an unrestricted practice and enjoy excellent rapport with BMH surgeons, nurses, and ancillary staff.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.The staff CRNA is expected to perform the following essential functions:Clinical FunctionsThe following list of anesthesia related services should be reviewed at least every two years and changes made as required. More clinical responsibilities may be added as additional education and experience is obtained by the individual practitioner.Pre-anesthesia assessmentRegional Anesthesia and Analgesia TechniquesRequesting laboratory/diagnostic studiesPre-anesthetic medicationAdministering general anesthesia and adjuvant drugsRegional anesthesia techniques: SubarachnoidEpiduralLocal infiltrationTopicalOther such techniques within the CRNAs education, experience, and skill level as assigned by the Chief Nursing OfficerSedation techniquesCardiopulmonary resuscitation managementInvasive and noninvasive monitoringAirway management techniquesMechanical ventilation/oxygen therapyFluid, electrolyte, acid-base managementBlood, blood products, plasma expandersPeripheral intravenous/arterial catheter placementAcute and chronic pain therapyPost anesthesia dischargeRequired Skills, Qualifications, and CompetenciesMust demonstrate current competency in the clinical privileges extended.Proficient in the operation of anesthesia equipment.Current knowledge in anesthesia practice.Must exhibit basic knowledge of safety in a health care facility.Knowledge and practice of universal precautions in patient contact is required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNonePhysical demandsAbility to perform job functions while standing. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
