About the Role:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Employment Litigation Attorney to join their team in Lansing. This role is a key addition to the firm's continued growth and offers a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate.
The ideal attorney will bring extensive experience in employment litigation, a strong ability to lead employment-related investigations, and a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships. Candidates with a portable book of business will find significant advantages in equity partnership considerations, particularly in specialized practice areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in complex employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour disputes.
- Conduct and oversee sensitive employment-related investigations.
- Advise and counsel clients on compliance with employment laws and strategies for risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while expanding the firm's client base.
- Collaborate across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Contribute to the firms business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with admission to practice law in Michigan (or eligibility for reciprocity).
- 10+ years of experience in employment litigation and investigations, preferably at a mid-to-large law firm.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and investigations independently.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
- A book of business or demonstrated capacity to generate business is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
