Pediatrician Job Description Provide comprehensive pediatric care services including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance to patients. As a member of the health team, you will be expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the organization and work collaboratively to achieve them. Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations is required.
Responsibilities - Obtain patient's health history and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and provide counseling for each patient on a treatment plan.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with New York State statute and professional practice guidelines.
- Perform minor surgical procedures for which you are credentialed.
- Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
- Review incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG), sign, date, and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Comply with the Infection Control plan, including utilizing universal precautions and ensuring support staff compliance.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings.
- Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
- Assist in outside medical public relations functions.
- Adhere to productivity standards and meet at least the minimum requirement.
- Lock all chart notes within seven (7) days of the patient visit.
- Maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York State, including applicable narcotics licensure (DEA) required for full exercise of medical staff membership and clinical privileges.
- Fulfill any other reasonable requests from management.
Essential Skills - Expertise in Pediatrics

- Current New York State medical license
- Current DEA certification
- Board eligible or certified (certification required within 12 months of start date if eligible at time of hire)
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification
- 3-5+ years of experience preferred but open to entry-level candidates
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Computer aptitude and proficiency
- Proficiency with MS Word and Outlook
- Experience with electronic health records (preferred but not required)
Work Environment Multi-specialty office building with a supportive team including a pediatrician, office manager, 2 RNs, NPs, PAs, LPNs, and front desk support staff. The shift is Monday-Thursday 8 AM to 8 PM and Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, usually with one late day (11 AM to 8 PM) each week. The role includes 32 clinical hours and 8 administrative hours which can be done at home.
