Tittle - Network Technician II (Onsite)
Location - SECAUCUS, NJ
Long term contract with possible contract extension or hire
Pay - $26-$28/hr on W2 (Based on experience level)
Looking for Network Technicians with a proven track record in:
Racking and stacking of network devices
Cable patching
Physical layer troubleshooting
Equipment disposal activities
Installing and troubleshooting Cisco and Avaya IP phones
This position will support facilities management, site security and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customer by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.
Position Details:
Hourly position based upon experience & skill level
Standard work hours: Either
Thurs - Sun 10:00pm - 8:00am (please until in full production will work day shift Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:00pm)
Thurs to Mon 8:00am-4:00pm
Location: Customer Site located in Onsite - Secaucus, NJ
Requirements:
Must be proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
Requires experience in working in communications closets
Must be able to perform rack and stack activities
Must be able to safely lift heavy objects
Must understand cable patching processes and procedures
Must be familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross connect procedures
Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking.
Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues
Must understand network terminology
Must be familiar with IP phone
Must be able to program Cisco phones
Must be able to install Avaya phones
Must be able to troubleshoot Avaya and Cisco phones
Requires good interpersonal communications skills
Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue
Must be able to interpret a customer's issue in a way that will allow technician to facilitate a resolution
Experience and Education:
5 years of experience in data communications
Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers
Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred
Relevant experience working in a large data center environment (supporting a minimum of 100 cabinets)
Pre-made Fiber install and testing
Experience with fluke testers
