Job Description:

Nasdaq Private Market is seeking a Data Engineer to join our New York City-based team. We specialize in providing valuations for pre-IPO companies using diverse, often messy, data sources such as secondary market activity, news / media, and public filings.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of data engineering experience (preferably closer to 5), strong Python and Ruby on Rails skills, and familiarity with data quality control and automation. Experience in the financial sector is a plus. Youll collaborate closely with our data science teamwho build proprietary predictive models and perform sector/trend analysisto ensure the integrity and efficiency of our data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Rails.
• Develop APIs to integrate data systems and support internal and external products.
• Build and optimize ETL processes to ensure data quality, integrity, and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Work closely with the Data Science to deploy machine learning models.
• Automate repetitive tasks and build tools to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Python and Ruby (2+ years; 5+ preferred)
• Expertise in building and optimizing ETL processes.
• Knowledge of AWS and containerization technologies such as Docker
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Availability to work in-person in our NYC headquarters
