Description
Medix Infusion is looking for a dedicated Clinical Review Nurse to join our team in Addison, TX. As a Clinical Review Nurse, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and safety of therapy orders. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough clinical assessments of medical records to confirm that all necessary therapy requirements are met before patient treatment begins. You will collaborate closely with our Intake, Scheduling, Pharmacy, and Clinical departments to manage patient care effectively, while upholding our commitment to compassionate, high-quality standards.
Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform dedicated to enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies. We specialize in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially those in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient's journey as smooth as possible.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Review: Assess therapy orders for accuracy, safety, and completeness. Ensure that all required components are present before patient care.
  • Timely Processing: Complete clinical reviews for new referrals promptly to avoid delays in patient care.
  • Regulation Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and policies to maintain compliance.
  • Data Management: Research and gather additional information as needed, consulting with referring offices, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Managers, and Medical Directors.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide guidance over the phone about medications, side effects, and infusion experiences.
  • Documentation: Accurately record information in the EMR system, including the medication table.
  • Support: Serve as a resource for non-clinical staff within the Patient Services Department and assist with orientation and training of new team members.
  • Professional Conduct: Exhibit courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior consistently.
  • Additional Duties: Complete follow-up tasks as assigned and attend departmental meetings and in-services.
Required Qualifications:
  • LPN/LVN or RN with at least two years of clinical experience. Experience in medical or utilization review is preferred.
  • Valid Nursing License
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience in an infusion specialty is also preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Microsoft Teams, and company self-service payroll software is essential.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural and language differences in patient care delivery.
  • Mathematical Competency: Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
