Sous Chef to bring their expertise to our high-volume, upscale kitchen. Fresh pasta and wood-fired pizza oven experience are major pluses!
Position Overview: The Sous Chef will oversee daily back-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, cleanliness, and employee development. This role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for creating outstanding dining experiences in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities: - Supervise back-of-house operations and team members to maintain a high standard of hospitality and service.
- Ensure food preparation, recipe accuracy, and safety standards are upheld.
- Lead by example, maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Participate in hiring, training, and development of back-of-house employees.
- Manage scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and payroll systems efficiently.
- Oversee the execution of daily service, catering, and special events.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and menu items.
- Organize and lead pre-service meetings to align the team on daily goals.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements: - Completion of company-provided Sous Chef training and Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience in a high-volume kitchen required.
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Proficient in menu planning, team coaching, and problem-solving.
- Strong organizational, self-motivation, and leadership skills.
- Experience with technology, including Microsoft Office and POS systems.
- Physical capability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive motions in a hot kitchen environment.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
