Overview:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers in both the wound care clinic and inpatient settings. The APP will assess, plan, and deliver high-quality patient care, with a focus on the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions and chronic illnesses related to wound care. This role requires advanced education, clinical training, and certification as either an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a physician, adhering to applicable state regulations.
Clinical Assessment: Conduct thorough physical examinations and preventive health assessments according to established guidelines and physician instructions.
Diagnostics: Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify clinical problems and determine patient care needs.
Care Planning: Document physical findings, develop a care plan, and review these findings with the healthcare team.
Collaboration: Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient cases and care plans.
Scope of Practice: Operate within the scope of practice as defined by education, training, and established protocols.
Prescriptive Authority: Exercise prescriptive privileges in accordance with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, excluding Schedule I or II medications.
Policy Review: Annually review and update clinic policies in collaboration with the Medical Director.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
Program Development: Lead and participate in program development initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and meet organizational needs.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with various departments to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of wound care programs.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Certification: Current certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Previous experience in wound care or a related clinical field is preferred.
Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, and excellent communication abilities.
ACLS and BLS Required
