Apex Systems is seeking a Chemistry Technician near Richmond, VA for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a global manufacturer of fuels and lubricants that reduce emissions, improve fuel economy, extend equipment life.
Chemistry Technician
The Chemistry Technician conducts research, development, and/or performance testing activities. Additionally, the Synthesis Technician performs assigned projects under the direction or supervision of a senior R&D team member or leader and is often an entry level position.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic formulation, synthesis, and/or testing activities to meet established project objectives. Familiarity and use of the client Product Development Process as appropriate.
- Perform industry and end clients specific laboratory tests using established procedures. Assist in development and modification of tests as needed. Develop plan for testing and/or additive blending.
- Completes preliminary evaluations of data and consults with senior R&D team member or leader regarding results, chemistry/component viability and necessary characterizations. Completes special projects as assigned.
- Participates in technical and/or project reviews and presents findings as appropriates. Engages with assigned teams and cross-functional stakeholders, such as business, process, marketing, etc…
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date lab notebooks in accordance with established procedures. Ensure objectivity and accuracy in reporting and recording data.
- Understand, comply, and promote safe laboratory and work practices, including appropriate safety regulations and procedures.
- Assure that complete documentation is maintained on ISO or Quality System related activities. Participate in Quality System related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Quality System function & responsibilities
There is a pay range from $20/hr to $25/hr depending on a combination years of experience and skillset.
