The Environmental Site Leader will leverage their overall environmental law and regulatory experience to support site construction development and to ensure complete environmental compliance on assigned construction site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting solar site land development activities from design implementation through closeout
- Lead all site environmental compliance needs, which includes (but is not limited to):
- Ensure projects are completed and in compliance with all environmental permits on site
- Continually evaluate site development plans during all construction phases for their environmental impacts
- Coordinate with site leadership team to ensure an active approach for environmental compliance
- Ensure that all site environmental documentation, notification and permit requirements are in compliance
- Work with site management team to help ensure that all subcontractor activities are in compliance with permits
- Inspect subcontractors work progress and share timely and appropriate concerns with site management
- Manage all environmental compliance training for the site
- Support the coordination and resolution of site development and construction related environmental compliance issues that may arise. Being able to offer appropriate and situational resolutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and train assigned staff and site management.
- Lead and train site contactors for all environmental compliance needs on your assigned site.
- Be proactive in communication with the Strata Solar Environmental Team, your specific site leadership team and be able to offer positive professional support for environmental issues that arise.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum degree – BS environmental science, engineering or related field
- 8+ years environmental compliance experience with a special emphasis on SWPPP and SPCC inspections
- 2+ years experience on construction sites
- Certified SWPPP Inspector/Manager or can obtain within 3 months of hire
- 30 Hour OSHA Construction or be able to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Extensive experience managing environmental compliance and documentation
- Skilled at reading and interpretation of civil engineering plans
- Comfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants and subcontractors
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds.
