The Legal Review Attorney unit needs extra legal support to handle an increase in eligibility appeals, ensuring all federal deadlines are met with quality work. The selected attorney contractors might be restricted from practicing law outside their TennCare role to avoid any conflicts of interest.

Job Duties:

1. Research & Review Appeals : Investigate and make decisions on eligibility disputes (25% of the work).
2. Understand Medicaid Policies : Stay updated on Medicaid laws and policies (25% of the work).
3. Monitor Cases : Ensure cases are processed according to Medicaid rules (25% of the work).
4. Identify & Resolve Issues : Find problems with eligibility and suggest solutions (25% of the work).

Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor (JD).
• License : Active Tennessee law license.
• Skills : Strong communication, organizational, and judgment skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience : Knowledge of Medicaid and eligibility appeals is a plus.
