Our client is seeking a CMMC Engineer to assist with compliance obligations, gap analysis, and remediation work. The focus is on organizing outputs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preparing for upcoming audits. This person will not be starting from scratch, as the groundwork has already been laid.
CMMC Engineer Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control, assessments, and gap analysis.
- Review and improve policies to ensure compliance with CMMC regulations, SOC standards, and SOX financial audits.
- Assist with regulatory examinations for internal and external audits.
- Organize and develop processes to bridge gaps and streamline workflows.
- Prioritize tasks based on framework requirements, scoring, and gap analysis results.
- Create compliant policies, documentation, and processes.
- Own and manage the compliance work across various business units.
- Support audit preparation and remediation efforts for the March audit.
- Existing Efforts:
- Consultants have completed discoveries, self-evaluations, and initial gap assessments.
- Outputs have been gathered but need better organization and process development.
- Manual processes currently dominate the workflow and require optimization.
- Environment Details:
- Small landscape: 29 servers and a handful of applications, including cloud applications (not complex).
- CMMC is the primary focus but covers other compliance areas (e.g., SOC and SOX).
CMMC Engineer Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in audit remediation and compliance (CMMC knowledge required)
- Proven track record of organizing outputs, processes, and frameworks
- Familiarity with scoring, prioritization, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong ownership, documentation skills, and ability to create efficient processes
- No specific certifications required
- Mid-level engineer-not entry-level but not so senior they'd get bored
- Ability to organize and take ownership of compliance work
- Comfortable working with an established framework (rules are set; need to implement efficiently)
