2nd shift position: Mon. - Fri., 1 PM to 9:30 PM. 2nd shift has a 10% pay differential.
Suburban Testing Labs - STL has been successfully operating since 1963. Our award-winning environmental testing company is expanding and is seeking candidates for our Receiving Specialist position.

The Receiving Specialist maintains control of water sample containers from receipt to disposal. This person ensures that sample containers are received and logged properly, as well as stored in appropriate locations, readily available for analysis, and disposed of at the proper time.

KEY JOB DUTIES :

• Relocate samples from coolers to sample tables;
• Organize samples by group according to their associated work order;
• Perform pH and preservation checks on appropriate bottles and document results on chain of custody form;
• Move samples onto associated carts for distribution;
• Distribute short hold samples to laboratory;
• Prioritize sample logins so that samples are ready for analysis in a timely manner;
• Ensure all aspects of the Sample Acceptance policy are met or otherwise documented;
• Label samples and distribute them to lab staff in a timely manner;
• Ensure adequate storage areas are available in sample storage area;
• Scan samples into their locations & document sample storage temperatures.

Requirements

• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
• Solid organization, accuracy and communication skills;
• A team player who is very detail oriented;
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work overtime as required to meet client / workload needs.
• 1 to 2 years of job experience involving a fast pace and teamwork, as well as accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills; e.g., Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds periodically during each work shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Engage in the following movements: Balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking, grasping, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
• The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines.
• The incumbent is potentially subject to conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: odors, gases, poor ventilation.
