Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, public relations, marketing, digital media, or related major;
•Three years of writing, creating, managing, and posting content for an organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is highly desired.
•AP Style writing skills

•intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

WHO WE ARE :
Chesterfield Public Library is seeking a part-time Creative Content Writer to join its team of innovative forward-thinking professionals. The position, in Community Services, is the primary content writer for internal and external communications to promote the library to media and to the public.
DUTIES INCLUDE :
•Review, write and edit content on Library's website. Develop and write Library blog.
•Maintain awareness of community needs and current trends; explore opportunities to promote services and program to develop plans in response to findings.
•Collaborate with team members to coordinate promotional efforts and explore opportunities to reach a broader audience
•Produce and write scripts; collaborate with videographer to develop pieces promoting the library.
•Provide writing and editing services for the library using AP Stylebook; write and edit grant applications for community services; write and edit award applications.
•Write press and media releases; work with news organizations to write and edit library column.
•Attend library outreach events and programs, shadow library employees to get deeper understanding of community needs and interests.
•Perform other work as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Work is performed in library office, library locations and other professional settings; extensive use of computers and devices required. Light to medium, occasionally heavy, physical requirements which may include, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling crouching, keyboarding, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal and reading; not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
