Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Model a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co-workers
- Ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
- Maintain good attendance record
- Document all assessments, reassessments, progress notes, discharge summaries and other clinical work in the medical record per departmental policy and procedure
- Provide resident, family and staff education pertaining to Occupational Therapy modalities to ensure understanding and proficiency of care
- Demonstrates good clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatments in which trained to provide
- Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Techs and Occupational Therapy students
- Supervises and reviews documentation written by the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants as per State Practice Act
- Screening residents to determine their potential benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention
- Develops, directs and/or participates in Occupational Therapy programming for the residents
- Attends in-services and other meetings as required on an ongoing basis
- Maintains continuing education per state licensure requirements
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehab
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed/Registered Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas
- Knowledge of therapy industry and federal, state, and local government regulations
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated efficiency strategies for fast paced environment
- Experience in SNF/LTC/IL/AL/OP setting or mature population rehabilitation and wellness needs
- Experience with PDPM treatment and reimbursement policy
- Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word, Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, people with disabilities, and hospice patients
- Ability to perform Essential Duties
- Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
- Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
- Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
