Job Title: RN - Oncology Infusion Clinic

Experience: 1 year of experience
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
Must-Have:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills
Job Description:
- Administer PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by a physician.
- Consult with other medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during conscious sedation and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient in sharing care plans.
- Provide chemotherapy-related educational information to patients and their families, and answer inquiries.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff.
- Schedule patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assist with coordination of care through referrals and phone calls post-visit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
