Position Summary
Greets customers andassesses needs to determine sales/service focus or referral to appropriatedepartment. Provides specific servicesto existing and potential customers such as account opening and/or maintenance,and purchases of CDs, HSAs and IRAs.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities
•Access customer needs for sales and/or services in aprofessional manner, determines best solution and clearly communicates thatsolution to the customer. Answerquestions regarding bank products and services while recognizing sales andreferral opportunities.
•Stay apprised of existing bank products and servicesincluding implementation of new ones.
•Open deposit accounts including checking and savings,certificates of deposit, safe deposit box leases, HSAs, IRAs, etc.
•Perform specific service transactions for customersincluding but not limited to reordering checks, making account name and addresschanges, granting access to safe deposit boxes, etc.
•Handle customer serviceissues by conducting research, assuming ownership of customer problems, andproviding follow-up status to customers.
•Greet customers to ensuresmooth traffic flow within banking office in order to provide efficientservice.
•Build customer relationships by using bank developedtechniques and processes to better serve customers and the banking office team. Be proactive in daily customer andprospective customer contact, either by phone or in person to identifyfinancial needs and initiate and/or strengthen relationships.
•Support team sales process by identifying and actingupon customer needs or by making the appropriate referral. Participate in team and individual salesgoals.
•Follow bank policies and procedures, securityguidelines, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
•Manage risk in every customer interaction and detectfraudulent transactions to prevent losses
•May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent required and aminimum of 3 years of related job experience, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
•Customer service experience in retail salesenvironment required, banking experience preferred.
•Effective oral and written communication skills.
•Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrate willingness and desire to work in a teamenvironment.
•Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
•Adaptability to change, including cross-training forTeller and Teller Supervisor.
•Ability to compute basic to moderately complex mathcalculations.
•Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Ability tointerpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram, or schedule form.
•Proficiency in using personal computers and officeproducts (e.g., Word, Excel).
