General Description

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will work as a leader in the manufacturing group. The Manufacturing Engineer will evaluate and improve manufacturing methods by gathering and evaluating data and applying their knowledge of design, materials, fabrication processes and equipment. This position will be directly involved with improving workflow, implementing new processes and technology.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current, and implement new, manufacturing processes to improve process flow, reducing lead times and costs.
  • Provides manufacturing decision making by calculating production, labor and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Develop and lead projects for the improvement of current manufacturing capabilities and selection of new equipment and technology to expand internal capabilities.
  • Develop work-holding fixturing for manual and robotic cells to aid fabrication, including creation of drawings per company standards.
  • Provide support to fabrication departments to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform BOM review and routing creation for internally manufactured parts (Cutting, machining, laser/waterjet, forming, welding).
  • Provide manufacturing cost/time estimates for use in quotation of new jobs and parts orders.
  • Work directly with manufacturing team to provide support and improve programs and designs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and SOPs for existing and new processes and equipment.
  • Assist in communication and documentation of daily project status and due dates.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree within industrial engineering or mechanical engineering is desired
  • Certifications with lean or six sigma is strongly desired
  • 3+ years of experience within manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering is required
  • Experience within one or all below fields/industries is desired:

-Tactical project deployment

-Assembly

-Welding (manual and robotics preferred)

-Machine shop (CNC mills/lathes)

-Drawing Checker

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software and working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting is required
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, including routings and work centers is required
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet company objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal & written skills with desire to be an active team member.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills MS Office programs.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing preferred.
