Location: New York, NY 10038 (Hybrid)
Pay Range: $50-55/hour DOE
Brief Summary
The Senior Designer is responsible for creating commercially viable product designs for a mid-to-high-volume category/collection. This role involves presenting and delivering brand-right designs that align with the overall concept and business strategy, ensuring consistency in style, color/print, fit, and fabric. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the brand and the ability to inspire and lead others while managing design projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.
- Design seasonal products focusing on style, fit, and fabric while meeting cost and production goals.
- Adapt designs based on feedback and incorporate necessary changes for finalization.
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and product development teams to ensure alignment with brand vision.
- Research fashion trends and conduct competitor analysis to drive innovative design solutions.
- Present designs to leadership and key stakeholders, providing creative direction and justifications.
- Oversee execution of design sketches, prototypes, and specifications.
- Inspire and mentor junior designers to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environment.
- Strong creative ability with a keen eye for commercial fashion styling and performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and experience with Centric (a plus).
- Prior experience leading, coaching, and developing talent.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage multiple levels of stakeholders.
- Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid schedule in New York City.
