Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Department: Finance and Accounting

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Brea, California

 

OVERVIEW:  Imprimus is seeking a financial leader to join our senior leadership team. After a series of acquisitions, our business plan calls for aggressive organic growth. With five pressure sensitive label manufacturing plants across the country, Imprimus is uniquely positioned for local, regional, and national clients. Leading a team of 10 to 15 finance and accounting personnel, the CFO will work with the CEO to execute on our intermediate and long-term goals. If you are an energetic CFO that is growth oriented and enjoys the challenge of an aggressive business plan, we look forward to meeting with you!

 

JOB SUMMARY:  To direct and lead the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department in the areas of consolidation and financial reporting; treasury and cash management; income, sales, & use taxes; and back-office accounting (AR, AP, Credit & Collections, and Payroll) while maintaining a strong internal control environment and adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to the following:

  • Establish and maintain operating procedures consistent with the Company's broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. Ensure corporate policies regarding financial management and control are adhered to.
  • Manage the accounting and finance team to ensure a smooth and accurate month-end close.
  • Approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP. Review financial statements and reports for accuracy and timely distribution.
  • Prepare analyses and financial presentations of the Company's performance to budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Present information to employee groups, management, and outside third parties.
  • Manage year-end financial audit, including directing the preparation and review of work papers.
  • Work with the CEO and leadership team to drive the aggressive business plan forward
  • Work closely with the outside audit firm regarding accounting issues.
  • Maintain banking relationships, manage cash following the Company's objectives, and negotiate bank fees and terms. Evaluate treasury management products.
  • Prepare quarterly income tax estimates and provision calculations. Work with outside tax preparers to take advantage of tax incentive credits and ensure compliance with IRS and state tax regulations. Address inquiries from taxing authorities, including handling Federal and State income tax audits as they arise.
  • Ensure proper cost accounting and related reporting is completed to maximize profitability in manufacturing. Work with management to improve areas of deficiency.
  • Lead the team in continuous process improvement activities to drive efficiency gains and improved accuracy while ensuring a strong internal control environment.
  • Hire, mentor, discipline, and terminate employees as needed to meet the needs of the Department.
  • Identify, evaluate, decide, and implement policies and procedures to drive efficiency and effectiveness, utilizing software solutions as appropriate for the business.
  • Prepare and present financials to the Board of Directors monthly and quarterly.

TRAVEL:  May require travel (daily/overnight/extended stays possible) when needed to visit our five manufacturing plants as well as customers and vendors. The manager will determine the need.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5 years of controller, CFO, or related management experience. Must have strong accounting acumen and experience leading an Accounting Team. Must be comfortable working with and communicating with executives and peers.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Must possess an effective management style, be capable of assessing situations, and be proactive as part of the management team.
  • This person's demeanor and bearing will garner peer's and subordinates' respect.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of internal controls
  • Must be able to work the necessary hours to get the job done, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the printing industry is highly desirable.
  • Self-starter who can work in and with teams
  • Proactive, decisive, and motivational.
  • Will act with tenacity and determination while being sensitive to employee relations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Works in an office environment. May continuously sit at a desk for an extended period; intermittently answer the telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate. May spend some time in a manufacturing environment and be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. An employee must meet the physical demands described above to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
