Job Description

Location:  New London, CT or Remote for highly qualified candidate

Reports to: Executive Director


Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3+ years of experience as a bookkeeper (nonprofit work preferred)
  • QuickBooks online expert, certification required
  • Salesforce.com experience preferred
  • Highly recommended: multiple references for bookkeeping expertise
  • A self-starter who is passionate about the work and content in a fast-paced environment
  • Organization/time-management skills; attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines
  • High integrity needed to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency/certifications in MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Excellent communication skills; a team player
  • Solution mindset rooted in clear plans of action


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for bookkeeping, including government grant expense reporting
  • Administrative liaison for backend business relationships (HR PEO, Accountant, etc.)
  • Reviewing Salesforce.com data to ensure alignment
  • Monitoring and reconciling program fund requests
  • Salesforce.com tracking and reporting on restricted funds
  • Prepare, process, and file request for payment forms and other financial transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled financial reports
  • Process expense reports
