Inside Sales Specialist

The Inside Sales Specialist will play a critical role in managing quoting and customer service inquiries, delivering excellent support, and driving customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment. This role requires a detail-oriented, results-driven professional with strong communication and technical skills who can collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

The ideal candidate will have experience in inside sales or customer account management within manufacturing or a related field. Familiarity with quoting, pricing (materials and labor), and advanced Excel functions is essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of responsibilities, build customer relationships, and contribute to revenue growth.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and process requests for quotes (RFQs), ensuring all necessary customer information is collected and accurate for quoting purposes.
  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate quotations to customers, adhering to company standards and pricing guidelines.
  • Follow up with customers on project statuses in the quoting pipeline to ensure progress and resolution.
  • Manage daily customer account activities, including:
    • Providing updates on order fulfillment and delivery changes.
    • Addressing customer inquiries and complaints with prompt and effective solutions.
    • Coordinating order acknowledgments, quality certificates, and compliance requirements.
  • Support and/or manage the Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process for customer repairs and returns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project scope and customer needs.
  • Prioritize tasks and self-manage workloads to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and ERP systems, ensuring up-to-date customer and project information.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business administration, management, or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inside sales or customer account management, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in quoting and pricing processes, particularly with materials and labor.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to analyze the impact of decisions before execution.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to solve problems analytically, address client needs effectively, and work independently.
  • Basic technical understanding of diesel engines is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.

Additional Requirements

This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NOFORN). Candidates must provide proof of U.S. citizenship and attest to not holding dual citizenship. Acceptable proof includes a U.S. Passport, U.S. Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate.
