Position Overview
We're seeking a driven, entrepreneurial professional with 8+ years of experience in institutional capital raising to join our tight-knit Capital Strategies team in New York as a key contributor. Responsibilities
- Drive capital-raising efforts by leveraging your established institutional investor relationships and network connections across regions and verticals, bringing valuable relationships to expand Thales' reach for its fund partners.
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with institutional investors, including endowments, foundations, family offices, pensions, consultants, and fund-of-funds.
- Actively identify and source new alternative investment managers to join the Thales client roster and subject to Thales’ stringent selection process
- Partner with Thales' internal team to ensure seamless execution of fundraising strategies.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with new and existing clients, contributing to their success and aligning with their growth objectives.
- Participate in event planning, virtual conferences, and bespoke investor engagements.
- Provide clients with actionable market insights and collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging and impactful research content.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in capital raising, hedge fund, or alternative investment industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Licenses: FINRA Series 7, 63
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite; familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM tools, Notion; Proficiency with AI tools (Chat GPT, App-built AI tools).
- Expertise: Extensive institutional investor network and knowledge of alternative public and private market strategies.
- Must-Have: >75 shared connections with the hiring manager, David Modiano.
- Caliper Test: Required for employment at Thales

Compensation & Benefits
- Thales offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Significant profit-sharing potential tied to capital raised and new client acquisition.
- Profit-sharing for capital raised for clients brought in by the candidate.
- Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs. The current estimated base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 per year. No cap on total compensation (formula-based profit sharing).
Additional Information
This role involves some business travel and requires residency in New York. The expected start date is Q2 2024.
