Job Summary:

The position involves overseeing the management and operations of nursing services, including providing strategic direction and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards. Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, developing and managing budgets, and serving as a liaison among staff, physicians, patients, and families. The role requires preparing operational and financial reports, staying updated on healthcare trends, and adhering to relevant policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Manage nursing operations, ensure effective patient care, and enforce compliance with safety standards
  • Supervision/Management: Oversee nursing staff, provide coaching, and monitor satisfaction levels
  • Budget: Develop and manage a multi-million-dollar budget for inpatient nursing units
  • Liaison: Act as a communication link between staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on operations and finances
  • Education: Keep informed about changes in healthcare and nursing
  • Regulation: Adhere to policies and regulations at various levels


Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health Administration
  • Registered Nurse license from the Mississippi Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of 4 years nursing manager experience within a high-volume nursing leadership role
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and budgeting skills; proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with a diverse patient population
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis and personnel management preferred
