Job Description

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing sales operational excellence and efficiency within the organization, both online and bricks and mortar. This position will lead and oversee sales across both Canada and the United States, ensuring the company achieves its revenue and growth targets in these key regions. Serving on the Senior Leadership team, this role will play a pivotal role in the activities of the sales division, including online sales, with responsibility for shaping sales strategies, managing the overall performance of the team and fostering relationships with key clients and stakeholders in both countries. The VP of Sales will be responsible for building and executing strategies to drive growth, optimize sales processes, and enhance overall performance across North America and Canada.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information
  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s sales strategies for both the US and Canadian markets, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and regional requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate trends and options; choose a course of action; define objectives; evaluate outcomes.
  • Take early stage online sales strategies to broader more impactful level as part of core sales direction.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, expanding existing client relationships, and overseeing large deals across both markets.
  • Work cross-departmentally with Marketing, Finance and Operations to drive business and promote new systems.
  • Continuously improve sales processes for both markets, introducing innovative tools and techniques to drive efficiency across North America and Canada to support the performance of the team.
  • Presents and reviews monthly reports on performance against operating plans and standards.
  • Works closely with the Product Development Director in launches and promotions of all new products.
  • Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and progress.
  • Keep the company informed on operational objectives, goals and/or changes.
  • Coordinates activities of assigned units with those of other company units. Seeks mutual agreement on problems involving coordination.
  • Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action. Ensures compliance within area of responsibility. Makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of policies and procedures.
  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging markets in both Canada and the US to keep the sales approach fresh and competitive.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.


Job Requirements


  • B.S., Marketing, Management, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years at a director level or Senior Manager in a manufacturing/CPG company, with the responsibilities for both online and bricks and mortar sales, similar discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excels in trouble shooting and translates problems into practical solutions
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and navigate complex negotiations across both regions.
  • Excellent understanding of CRM tools and sales analytics.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Responds effectively to inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Order processing systems and Manufacturing software.
  • Participative management type—advocates team concept.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.

Compensation

  • From $180,000 annually
  • Quarterly profit sharing


Work Location

  • KONG Headquarters - Golden, Colorado
  • Onsite Monday through Friday
