Position Overview:
The Accountant will support the finance team by performing various aspects related to the financial reporting cycle including, but not limited to, assisting with month-end close, the preparation of journal entries, and the preparation of account reconciliations and analyses.
Work Location: This role is an hybrid role at our Administrative Office in Scranton, PA.
Work Schedule: First Shift - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (2 days WFH, 3 days in-office)
Work Travel: 0% domestic travel.
Responsibilities:
Assist in all phases of corporate accounting including but not limited to accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid, lease accounting, month-end, and year-end closing processes
Assist in the execution of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Conduct thorough account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
Compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries for general ledger accounts per accounting standards and company policies
Maintain clear and accurate documentation for all financial transactions.
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
Ensure internal control procedures and policies are being followed and communicate exceptions
Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management
Assists with special projects on an as needed basis

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting,
Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environment
Knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to analyze a wide variety of data
Self-motivated, strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Flexibility to meet department deadlines when necessary
Ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment
Knowledge of accounting systems (SAP a plus)
