Position type: Non-Exempt
Position Overview: Works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to schedule shipping operations, including creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Works with shipping and warehouse team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

  • Effectively use SAP to process shipments, invoices, labels etc to ensure safe transport of product from GTP to Customer. Effectively use Excel to create truck bill, SLIs, log export duty drawback, spreadsheets and other documents as required.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of export documentation process including having information easily accessible for other employees, including organized shipping records, USMCA documents, Letters of Credit, Government Licenses, Bank Drafts, etc for products shipped. Also, develop knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices
  • Maintain hazardous shipping certification by attending required DOT training every 2 years and IATA & IMDG training every 3 years to remain compliant with Hazardous shipping guidelines and regulations. Assist others in plant in understanding hazardous labelling and shipping guidelines. Maintains records pertaining to shipping activities, including but not limited to, filing freight claims, container shipment logs, shipping documents and shipping metrics.
  • Interact with other plant employees, including but not limited to, Customer Service, Production Control, Manufacturing and lift truck operators as necessary to ensure timely shipments. Interact with established Freight Forwarders and carriers by obtaining international shipping quotes upon request, providing export documentation, request steamship lines bookings, scheduling outbound trucks
  • Resolve inconsistences with shipments in a timely manner to ensure Customers receives correct product and quantity. Maintain training book with step-by-step instructions to assist in training of new employees in Shipping area
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree preferred OR High School Diploma with 3 years' experience working in a warehouse / shipping environment.
  • Solid knowledge of SAP, Microsoft office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Experience in Manufacturing / Production areas preferred to understand processes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
