  • Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist's Assistant to join our medical team. The Pathologist's Assistant will work closely with pathologists to perform a variety of duties essential to the accurate and efficient examination of tissue specimens. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomical pathology, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Responsibilities:

    • Assist pathologists in the gross examination, dissection, and description of surgical specimens, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
    • Perform macroscopic dissection of surgical specimens, including complex and diverse cases, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
    • Prepare tissue specimens for histological processing, ensuring proper orientation and marking.
    • Perform frozen section preparation and analysis as needed during intraoperative consultations.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of specimen examinations, observations, and diagnostic findings.
    • Assist in the instruction and supervision of pathology residents, medical students, and other healthcare personnel in specimen handling techniques.
    • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies necessary for specimen processing and analysis.
    • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care outcomes.
