Gastroenterology Physician at Veterans Health Administration summary:

The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is seeking a compassionate and driven Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide quality patient care to Veterans. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, managing consultations, and conducting specialized endoscopic procedures, while also engaging in the education and training of medical fellows, residents, and students. Facility Details: The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is actively recruiting to fill a Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist to help care for our Veterans America s Heroes . The selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment within the Section of Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University and will be involved with education & teaching of fellows, medical students, residents, and other providers. Position Details: The selected Gastroenterologist Physician Candidate responsibilities will include but not be limited to, completing patient history and physical examinations, diagnosis, and therapeutic ability, effectiveness in emergencies, patient management, consultation, specialty skills and record keeping. The gastroenterologist is expected to promote delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the practice of gastroenterology in the hospital and is skilled in performing endoscopy. Skill and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including the ability to identify patient needs and to provide the care needed to promote improvement. The gastroenterologist will also have teaching responsibilities include the effectiveness in teaching, monitoring and coordination of educational activities - planning, evaluating, and documenting. The gastroenterologist's educational responsibilities would include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in a hospital setting. Research responsibilities (which include quality improvement projects) include the ability to identify and define significant research and development problems, to plan and execute a precise research program and to generate effective reports and results worthy of publication are not required but would be of significant value to the section. Additional Duties/Responsibilities: Incumbent will perform inpatient consultations and endoscopy procedures.

Tour of duty: Monday Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, no on-call, Alternative work schedule may be available, to include part-time appointments.
