Histology Tech - Southwestern OK - Day Shift
Job Summary: The Histology Tech works under the guidance of the Histotech Coordinator and the Pathologist. The role involves consulting with and keeping the Coordinator and Pathologist informed of activities, needs, and problems. Responsibilities include complying with established standards and practices, assembling supplies and equipment, maintaining a clean work area, preparing and keeping records and reports for the Pathology Department, filing, mailing, and calling reports, and actively participating in all Pathology procedures.
Regulatory and Education Requirements:
Successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program, or an Associate Degree, or 60 semester hours of college credit including 6 hours in Chemistry, 6 hours in Biology, and 1 year of acceptable experience under an ASCP Pathologist and HT (ASCP) or HLT (ASCP) is preferred with a minimum of Registry eligible. ASCP eligible candidates are also encouraged to apply.
Experience:
Prior experience as a Histotechnician (ASCP) or Histotechnician eligible is required.
